Our Quest students recently took a unique approach to learning about World War II by connecting historical vocabulary, concepts, and figures to something they know and love – their favorite movies, TV shows, and video games.
Students explored WWII terminology and themes by drawing metaphors between historical events and the characters, storylines, and conflicts found in modern media. This creative assignment encouraged critical thinking, deeper understanding, and meaningful connections between history and everyday interests.
When students can relate classroom learning to the world around them, history becomes more than facts and dates – it becomes relevant, memorable, and engaging.

This special experience gave students the opportunity to celebrate their success, build stronger connections with one another, and create lasting memories outside of the classroom. From stargazing to team bonding and plenty of fun along the way, it was the perfect way to recognize all the effort they put into reaching their goals.
